Today in church I was guided and my heart yearned for a new direction. I have remained lukewarm in my relationship with God lately, and now I know where to focus my energy.
God’s perfect love is the reason I live. The reason I believe in social equity and the reason I became a vegan. If we saw each other the way God saw us we wouldn’t have discreptanies among differences, but celebration and love, even among animals.
During my undergrad I was tickled by the idea that social equity was sought after and even fought for, but the reasoning behind why came back to a moralistic one. ‘Because it’s wrong’ to treat people differently. But why is it wrong? Our entire system is founded on inequality, especially capitalism. So what’s the point of fixing a broken world?
It’s God’s perfect love. When we accept Christ into our lives we are no longer viewed by the world’s standards but through Jesus. Our imperfections are erased and God sees us as the heirs to the throne, the kingdom of heaven. We are all heirs, we are all loved and God loves us all uniquely. If we loved each other the way God loved us then we wouldn’t have these inequalities we would live prosperously. “Your kingdom come”
Now I will be focusing on my writing, and maybe making a series of essays or books.

By God’s Grace we rescued a puppy.
He led us to him through the many little things that went on that night. We went in to Seoul for a look around and we basically just had some Starbucks and Ryan bought a sweater. Ryan was talking about wanting a dog the whole subway ride there and back. By the time we were back in Anyang we wanted to check the bus schedule to see if there was a direct bus to Changwon. We went into the underground mall to get across the street and we saw a little puppy running by. An older man, whom we thought was a security guard at the time, picked up the puppy and started scrounging around for a box to put him in. We started to follow him to see where he was going to leave that poor puppy. We negotiated with him and he was willing to give us the puppy for 40,000 won, but at the last moment he grabbed the pup’s arm and hugged him so tight he began to cry. We continued following him trying to negotiate for the puppy back, and he kept going higher and higher in his price. He could not speak, and he seemed homeless, or at least not well off. When he recognized we were foreigners he wanted to take advantage of us. Luckily we had him cornered and Jen was not giving up. She continued to try to reason with the man until a woman who spoke English walked by and asked if we needed help. She talked to the man and said we could take the puppy to the police and have them settle it, but then the man was fine with 70,000 won, and we took the puppy home. He smelt clean and it looked like they had cut his tail for aesthetic reasons, but he looked healthy. Andy and Ryan ran to the convenience store and bought him some food. That night he slept beside me and cuddled me all night, too bad he wasn’t potty trained yet.
We took him to the vet on Monday and he’s a healthy 2 month Cocker Spaniel. He does have ear mites, and they gave him medicine for that, but other than that completely healthy.
We are now proud parents of our puppy Samson. He is so precious and very smart. We’ve had him since Saturday and he already knows how to sit and lay down. He just started going to the bathroom in the right spot too. He is a great addition to our little family. When we go back to Canada he will be best friends with our kitties (Hopefully).
We love him, and we thank God for bringing him to us.

This week is all about Jesus. I am reminded of his presence and love in my life. If he never sacrificed himself for me, I would have never been saved, and would have lived and died a part of this world.
Thank you for your everlasting love.
